Snack time in my Afterschool class is always an exciting endeavor. Being health-conscious, it’s my duty to offer wholesome vittles to my students, especially since there’s a dearth of healthy food options available where I teach.
The children have already been exposed to sugar so they crave candy and partake when they’re not around me. Rather than give them candy, I offer “healthy sweets” as an alternative like tangerines, apples, watermelon, pineapple, and strawberries. They do eat them and they request them so I always have them on hand.
These ten tangerines didn’t last long—just long enough for me to take a few photos and choose the best one.
